8 Things to Secure Your Home Wireless Network

Change the Network Name
If you want your home network to be better protected, the first thing you should do is change the name of your wifi network, also known as the SSID (service set identifier).
While sometimes giving your wifi a somewhat offensive name like “Can’t hack that” that backfire, other names like “this is not a Wi-Fi” or “too fly for a Wi-Fi ” are really secure.
Changing the default name of your wifi makes it more difficult for network hackers to know what kind of router they have. If a hackerl knows the name of your router’s manufacturer, they’ll know what vulnerabilities the model has and then try to exploit them.

Create a Strong And Unique Password

Click Wireless-> Basic Wireless Settings-> Change the “Wireless Network (SSID) Name”
Network Administrator Password

Most wifi routers come with default passwords, such as “admin” and “password,” which are too easy for malicious hackers to break into.
Change the Default IP Address
Changing the default IP-address to a less popular one is another thing that you should consider doing to help protect your home network and make it more difficult for hackers to monitor it.
To adjust the IP address of a router, you can follow the following steps:
- Log in the console of your router as an administrator. Check these steps to know how to easily connect to your home network as an administrator.
- Usually, the address bar-style looks like Http:/192.168.1.1 or http:/192.168.0.1
- When you are there, enter the username and password on the login page;
- Then select network > LAN on the left side menu;
- Change the IP address to the choice, then press save.
After you have modified your IP address, you will need to type the new IP address in the web browser window.
