My story
My story begins like any other girl really. I grew up in a small town in London with my mum and dad, and my younger brother. Growing up I had no idea I would take an interest in the business world and would find myself running a blog giving out advice.
I didn’t even study business once I’d left secondary school, I did A levels in English, History and Drama with visions of being on stage in the West End. After a brief look into this world I soon realised it wasn’t for me, the glamour you see on TV is far from the reality!
I then took a business course at University which I dropped out of before the end of the first year. Disillusioned I went to my father for advice. That’s when everything changed for me.
A new beginning
Before I continue I’d like to say that I’m fully appreciative of what happened next, and realise that there are so many talented people who will never get this kind of luck and privilege.
My father has run his own business for 20 years, a media company that started off with him and his best friend in our garage which now employs over 100 people working with big brands, a couple of A listers and a few Premiership football teams. I was offered a chance to join the company as an intern (paid!) and given a career path into running the financial side of things.
Fast forward 6 years and I’m now a partner and have the option of working hours that suit me, can see my husband and daughter without having a to worry about what’s happening at work.
Why I started this blog
That brings me neatly to why I decided to start my own blog. Realising the privilege that I had and acknowledging that there are many, many talented people out there who just need a nudge in the right direction I wanted to help.
This is where Information a lot came in. If you’re taking the brave leap into starting your own business I hope you can find some useful and actionable information here which will help you smash the landing.
